I sometimes feel like that too because in my current fandom I'm a lot more interested in meta and discussions than in shipping or silly jokes and most of the fandom seems only interested in shipping and silly jokes. That made me feel 'too old' for fandom, but then I found some other fans who liked the same things as me and now it's just as much fun as before. Maybe you just need to find a different fandom or different people to talk about fandom? Something calmer, with less childish drama and wank?
