I only ever read the term POC online. I've never heard it in real life. I think it may be more of an american term?

I think because around here it would be very offensive to call some POC or person of colour. The social preferences where I live is to call people black, white, indigenous/X heritage if you can, darker etc

I thought POC meant piece of crap and I was very confused about why people were being so rude about others until I saw it mentioned with a descriptor

Same here.

The only other time I ever heard a similar term was in a dub of the Ghostwriter and I was all "but isn't Rob 'white'? what's going on?"

I should clarify. I'm not American and where I'm from there the racism is aimed at different peoples, and on top of that I was very, very young when I watched that show.
