This! I went through a long period of not enjoying fic because I just could never get into them. One day I decided to read one that focused on a minor character. The main characters were nowhere to be seen (read?). I enjoyed the hell out of it! Problem solved!

So yeah, OP. Try reading fic focused on or in the POV of another character and maybe you will find something you like.
