I feel like I'm in the minority about this, but I actually loved their interaction in the movie. But then again, I love banter/disagreement between my couples (See: Harry/Draco, Harry/Snape, etc).

Same. Relationships without banter tend to bore me, honestly, as well as most of fiction's conventional definitions of "normal" relationships. Even I only liked Tony/Pepper in this movie because of the banter, and otherwise liked them as friends from the Iron Man movies. I do hope we see some of Steve in the Iron Man movies.

Though my OT3 is still Pepper/Tony/Steve, with Tony subbing for domme!Pepper and neutral!Steve. :P

I'm indifferent about who's in what position since I can take or leave smut, but Pepper/Tony/Steve has become my OT3 for this fandom, entirely by accident.

Not specifically...try searching the tag for them on AO3. Most of the ones I've read there are really good :)

I have two in particular. The Magnetic series, which is the sort of Avengers fic written based on comics and the earlier films, before the actual movie. So, non-canon compliant, but well done. The second is a post-film fic, 'Come At Me' which is the best fic for this ship I've found, in my opinion. It's only starting to come into truly shippy territory now, but the set-up was needed to make the fic make sense.

Also to get Steve and Tony past their initial animosity. So, anyway, here's the links.

Yeah, I was neutral about Tony/Pepper until the Avengers. I didn't actively dislike the couple, but I cared a lot more about their friendship and could take or leave the romance. And then The Avengers came and bam, I'm in love. Probably the fastest I've ever started shipping a couple, after Sally Sparrow/Billy Shipton.

Pepper/Steve/Tony in the exact setup you mentioned has kinda become my OT3 too even though I actually don't ship movieverse Steve/Tony by itself. So weird.

This. My favorite pairings are Harry/Snape and reboot Kirk/Spock because I love the antagonists/enemies to friends to lovers arc in fic. That's why in the Avengers fandom, Bruce/Tony doesn't really do it for me where Steve/Tony does. I like the UST subtext that can be written into the characters fighting and misunderstandings (Steve/Tony) and the journey the characters take in order to become friends. Bruce and Tony were already friendly, so the main issue Bruce/Tony have sort out is Bruce's internal struggles. Also, I don't find the angst of Bruce's situation as interesting as the angst of Steve's situation, so I prefer ships with Steve. Ship and let ship, and all that, so YMMV.
