It's happened to me an alarming amount of times (last week was insane in that regard D:), and I'm supposed to be all grown up and mature and thoughtful by now.

Don't worry, we all make mistakes. The only real problem is if you never at least try to learn from them, which doesn't appear to be your case, so it's okay! :)
