Just FYI, but not everyone who writes m/m for anime/manga characters follows the traditional yaoi dynamics, esp not that of the uber!seme/weepy uke. I can't speak for all anime fandoms, but the m/m stories I've been reading look just like the slash from non-animanga fandoms. In some cases,I expect it's because slash writers from other fandoms come into animanga fandoms and write slash for their favorite pairings the way they always have.

It also depends on the quality & experience of the writer. Those who are good with characterization are less likely to force their subjects into OOC roles, trope or no trope.
