I'm...not going to lie, I don't usually gen-fic, but not because I dislike it. It's because 1. It's harder to find than shippy fic, 2. it's harder to tell how the characters I've grown attached to will be treated [sorry, but...I'm not interested in reading stuff where they're bashed] and 3. People tend to just be a little less descriptive of the actual content when it comes to gen fic, and I'm just as picky with gen stuff as I am with shippy stuff plot-wise, to less description means I'm that much less likely to bother clicking and seeing what's going on.

[Admittedly, there's also the fact I avoid the main comm of my fandom like the plague since half the time it's filled with 'sales' posts and the like, and there just aren't any gen-related archives of the kink meme, so that doesn't help.]
