YMMV of course. But the Ultimates versions are a hell of a lot closer personality wise than the 616, IMO. I'd love to hear why you think "especially Steve" was so far from the Ultimates version because aside from Hawkeye (who is an obvious pull from that universe), I'd say he came the closest to the Ultimates take.
