If there's one thing Loki wasn't lacking to begin with, it was love: he might not have had as much respect from his father and brother as he wanted, but it's obvious Thor loves him and always has, and there's definite caring there with Odin and Frigga as well.

I mean, that's not the same thing as wild sexy Mary Sue love, but I still feel like it's evidence enough that he's going to need something else if he's going to be redeemed, because Love's clearly not cutting it.

This was exactly my thought when I saw this secret. Loki isn't unloved; he's completely lost in his own hatred and he cannot recognize the fact he is wanted and loved.
