I'm so with you, OP. A couple of my fandoms have moved entirely to Tumblr, and I've had to resign myself to not being in those fandoms anymore. I can't follow Tumblr. I've tried. I don't know if it's a result of my learning disabilities or what, but I can't parse anything that goes on there that isn't a standalone post. As soon as people start interacting, it all gets jumbled and I can't understand what's going on.

I don't have a learning disability (that I'm aware of), but I like things to be organized and ordered, and tumblr is the virtual celebration of the opposite of that. I too tried and failed.

The annoying part is that they already have a good platform and more or less good functionality, so if they added better organization and navigation, and a more intuitive interface for anything that isn't just posting, it would be a social media dream come true.

Agreed. Maybe I'm just too stuck in an LJ/DW-mindset - I'll see an interesting theory someone posted with a few-dozen 'notes' and get excited because I think that means a good long discussion of said theory, but when I click 99.9% of the notes are just 'so-and-so re-blogged this'.
