I honestly don't get why Elena had to choose. I mean, I get not advocating an "alternative lifestyle" on a teen show, but seriously. Put 'em on a schedule, if you wanna do it that way. Sefan can be her official boyfriend for a week, and she can have Damon the next. Or all at once! I do not care, but seriously, they can all have each other however they want, at the same time, romantically or not. IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE ALL OR NOTHING, GUYS.

though tbh I would never object to a threesome; tis my favorite pairing out of the triangle

It seemed to me for a while there last season that they were setting up for something like that, actually. The whole thing with Katherine being all "it's okay to love them both" and "you don't have to choose" and, well, Katherine had them both at once, so why not? They've already gone there already anyway.

Yeah, exactly(that line from Kathrine made me squealy because a) she loved them b) both at the same time!). They're never gonna do an actual threesome, but having them both at once in a fully consensual relationship(not like Kathrine, whom I adore but was rife with consent issues, like pretty much every vampire ever) would work out well, I think. I mean, they both already treat her like they're in a relationship; all it would be would be adding an overt sexual/romantic aspect with both.

TBH I hope Vamp!Elena experiments with something like having a relationship with both of them at the same time.

Ugh. The whole "Elena's Choice" thing was just the worst. It felt so forced and honestly there didn't seem to be a need? Granted, I think both of them are the worst for her and wanted her to pick herself, but alas, the show is built around the damn triangle.

I could be cool with switching off though. Or if Katherine wanted to jump in that mix and there could be an OT4.
