My friend told me the entire plot and I wasn't really convinced.

On the other hand, I want to read another book series so badly. Give me the next Hunger Games or something. But with lesbians.

There aren't any lesbians, but the Chaos Walking trilogy is awesome.

If you find one with lesbians, do let me know.

Santa Olivia by Jacqueline Carey has lesbians and actually sort of reminded me of the Hunger Games. It has genetically-engineered wolf people and boxing, too.

And Fingersmith by Sarah Waters is amazing too, but I just realized you said series but these are still really good and you should check them out.

I am not the anon you replied to or the anon they replied to, but that first book sounds really interesting, I'll have to look it up. :D What's the premise?

It's not a series, but if you want lesbians, try Ash by Malinda Lo. It's a gay retelling of Cinderella!

Thank you for the rec! I'm so into gay re-tellings of fairy tales (also slashy harlequin remixes are my guilty pleasure).

Seconding this!! Malinda Lo does adventurous, whimsical, and straight forward YA fantasy, with the added bonus of lesbians characters (and main characters that are poc). I also recommend Huntress by her.

Try the Laura Caxton series by David Wellington.

State Trooper witnesses a vampire killing (and these vamps are not pretty, alluring creatures) and becomes an unwilling protege to an experienced vampire killer who doesn't really want her there.

The first one is called 13 Bullets.

I don't know if the series contains lesbians but you could always try The Secret Breakers.

Not read it myself but it's written by the friend of a really nice co-worker of mine so I want it to do well.
