this is so odd to me. why is it gross? is there something you're leaving out?

i have a younger sister and i got her into BL. i gave her all of my manga and while she never got into fandom, i had no problem with her reading sexually explicit material and with squeeing over pairings with her. i mean...we're both girls, close generation. i feel like i'm missing something in your secret.

this! we rec each other fic that's good regardless of rating and fan over ships, etc. it's not like we sit around and discuss kinks or anything lol.

Yeah this - my sister got me into fandom when she was 21 and I was 16, iirc, and we shared porn as well as other good things. We don't discuss kinks, but have each read porn written by the other...we just don't talk about it in a porn sense, if you get me, just in a technical 'agh this scene is killing me' way, and we only beta-read fics for each other when they are not porn. But going 'hey, read this fic, it's hot' or talking about ships, that's just sisterly bonding as normal IMO.

yeah. I don't have siblings myself, but this is what my gf did with her younger sister. they're just a few years apart in age and often like the same kind of fiction (including BL). I see nothing wrong with it.

I guess it depends on how close you feel, and how much you feel comfortable sharing.

Also, "close generation"; maybe I misread the op's secret, but I got the impression that her sister was much younger? That can make sharing some things a little awkward.

it might be a bit harder to relate, but i can't see how it would be 'gross'. my sister's a fair bit younger than me (5 years), but my point about the generation being close is that it's not anything like the age gap between my mom and me, which would make the situation kind of weird -- growing up with totally different world views and whatnot.

I am only guessing here, but maybe thinking about what her sister might find concerning lemons and such, makes the OP think about her sister's sexuality and that train of thought grosses her out?

that's what i assumed in the first place, but i can't really relate to that, so..*shrug*. my sister's sexuality doesn't bother me.
