I wonder if all the writers on that event actually deeply despised the Marvel universe and the Marvel characters and everything they stood for or something. Like, WHY would anyone write such a story? Even if they had somehow managed to make it well-written and in-character, WHY would anyone want to write a story like that unless it was a What-If or an Elseworlds-type thing?

I'm a DC girl first and foremost, so I don't read anything Marvel (but I do enjoy some of the movies and videogames and whatnot), so my opinion means little here, but... To me Civil War was worth it for how awesome Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 was. lol.

Oh, agreed. iron man had to literally reboot his brain for redemption.

But the fact of the matter is, the first time many people saw Maria hill stand out she was either

A. Capturing avengers to drill them on M-Day and ordered a telepath to invade spiderman's mind.

or

B. Civil war.

Fury's no saint, but that was worse then most saw from him. So she was not given the most favorable view.

I really don't see what's so bad about what she did in that first example. They were witholding information about the Collective, an extremely deadly threat that had already killed a superhero team.

Not to mention that storyline had this scene.
