I liked some of her songs until I heard the Ur So Gay one and ever since then I just... ugh.

Yes. That one too, but UR So Gay specifically made me unable to see her as anything but an immature fourteen year old bopping around like, "look at me aren't I so edgy and cool?"

I honestly have no issue with I Kissed a Girl because of the whole thing being autobiographical, of her sexual exploration after being raised in a conservative household growing up.

I wish she would rot and die already. She and her fans are giving her ex husband a bad name. I find it really upsetting everyone sides with her since she and Russell split.

Damn, I thought that the first arguments anyone would bring up for hating her would be:

1. Terrible music/singing.
2. Perpetuating sexual objectification of women and non-heterosexual curiosity.
3. Her annoying personality.

And whatever personal drama she brought as a last.

People are siding with her? Granted, I haven't kept up with that drama since it first broke, but all the rumors and opinions that I heard were that she's a massive bitch to spring a surprise divorce on him from a whole different country, and that a big part of the problem was her nasty, evangelical Christian family hating Russell.

She is my guilty pleasure. I even saw her in concert and it was great.

Agreed. I'm not some huge Katy Perry fan, but my friend invited me to a one of her concerts, and she was fantastic. I think she's a great performer, and I like how catchy her songs are.

I bought tickets for my sister and I to go, since my sister is a huge fan of hers and I thought her music was fun. However she really impressed me at the concert with her energy and performance; people give her shit for her vocal skills but she was legit really great at the concert I saw her at.

I like a bunch of her songs, despite trying my damnedest to not support her. I really don't like her personally, but she isn't exactly painful to look at. And I have a weakness for people in uniforms, so.

Agree with this so hard. I hate when people treat military uniforms as costumes meant to be "sexy" or "getting back at my boyfriend" bullshit. It's a uniform, one that means something, that you continuously get your ass kicked for the honor of wearing.

Nice terminology! As a female who spent a year trying (and failed) to get into Marine OCS, I thank you. There's a lot to be said for the honor of the uniform and the title.
