Lighting would have him appear that way. Or he could have been drawing his own Shepard.

But I'm gonna go ahead and admit that I always thought this meme guy was black anyway. Idek why.

I thought he was Obama actually since there are a lot of photos of him like that and people tend to use them as a "luls bitch plz idgaf" response to hateful/trolly things.

Might be a combination of that and:
-the fascination with using black people in memes and gifs (usually for edginess, irony, exaggeration, and "swag". Idk.)
-that I'm not used to seeing facial features being noticeably drawn in cartoonized faces other than black (sadly). Memes do tend to do it though so I should have seen that possibly coming.

I'm part blasian too, fuck. Lol.

I think the original artist drew his own Shepard with the "fuck that shit" rageface. I first saw it on the reddit page on rageface memes and their origins so I never thought he was black. I can see why people would think that. The eyebrows and cheekbones, maybe?

There is quite the resemblance between this Shepard and Obama, yes.

The only black people used in memes I know of are Obama, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and "successful black man". There are a lot more raptor and trollface memes.
