This. I don't much like het for its own sake, but if there's other stuff about the story I enjoy (the dynamic of the couple themselves, a good plot apart from the romance, interesting takes on the characters, etc) I'm not going to throw a fit or anything. People read things that appeal to them in some ways and not in others, if the parts that appeal to them are good enough. And if the het is sufficiently telegraphed and you still have readers who are predominantly slashers, it's not that your slasher fans are too dumb to see it's going to be het, it's that your story is good enough that they like you anyway! And that's something to be proud of. Fandom is not like a stereotype of a middle school dance, with boys clustered on one side of the gym and girls huddled around on the other and never the two shall meet.

If you're trying to mislead people though, that is not very nice.
