Well, it's not a lost cause. People can change and grow up.

And even if the OP doesn't want to listen, there are many lurkers who might gain some insight from that comment! If not for themselves, than for friends who are behaving like this, and might now have a better idea of how to deal with them in a way that doesn't end up hurting anyone.
