Well, aren't you the little entitlement whore? If you don't mind honesty, then I won't hold back. When it comes to Matt, there's really not much to fuck up, is there? He barely shows up at all, his personality is nearly a complete blank. I mean, the OP's got a point, but I think it's very difficult to go wrong with Matt. I don't know what exactly you mean by "self-proclaimed Matt fangirls" - aren't all fans self-proclaimed? - but I see no reason why you should consider yourself any better than the rest of his fans. I thought he was awesome when he first showed up too, and it had nothing to do with any potential relationship with Mello. That being said, the very best characterizations I've seen of Matt have been in M/M fics, and I'm a huge fan of both Matt and the pairing. I don't know how it is in RP, but I doubt you have any right to put down all of Matt's fans because you've seen a few people screw him up. Sure, some fans have gone wrong with him. But, for the most part, I love what fandom's done with Matt. I'm not saying you have to agree. I just don't appreciate you making sweeping generalizations like this.

if you know it's understandable no one likes to be lumped into a sweeping generalization, why do you continue to do it?
