Reno and Rufus really did surprise me in AC. I was like, "When did Rufus get that hot?!" But I still think AC was totally made for cashing in on more FFVII franchise.

Oh it totally was. It was aired just as a bunch of other FF7-based games were coming out and it was pure fan service.
