That is horrifying ... and yet also horribly interesting.
There's actually fics out there where they take the idea of a Doctor/Companion relationship SERIOUSLY, instead of going the "omg they're so in love, the 900+ year old genocidal alien with a god complex and the teenage Earth girl! There is clearly nothing wrong with this!" route like everyone else does?
... can I have a link, anon? I need this in my life, even if it's scary.

I think I remember this fic. Or one like it. Either way. The one I read was actually really interesting, in a horrifying and unfortunate way. And there are some that touch on in brilliantly, and I loved those (funnily enough, the came out in s5, before The God Complex had ever aired, so they had zero of the issues that were admitted in that episode).

Man I'd love to read me some Dark!Doctor. It wouldn't take much give him a goatee and play out what he'd be like if his moral compass was broken. Seeing him and his hench companions going around securing the universe under his rule makes for some yummy AU fodder. Or even Evil!Doctor kidnapping and grooming various people to be his perfect companions without the megalomania would be fun. There's an awful lot of room on the Tardis to build your fortress of darkness, just saying.

But sadly fandom never much agreed with my tastes. Though I'd love a link to that 1000 word fic you talk about. (Too bad it's not 100,000 words, eh?)
