Generally, if the fic is directly about disability/mental illness I don't think you should warn for ableism at all. If you're truly portraying what it's like to be or deal with a mentally ill/disabled person, then sometimes you're going to show some level of ableism inherently by having the character interact with other people.

If your summary is good, then the fact that it contains (for example) cancer will be enough to warn people of all that could trigger a person in a fic.

Also, as to people who nitpick about ableism who do not actually have or directly deal with someone who has an impairment. . .STFU. Seriously, just shut your fucking mouth.You DON'T understand or you would understand that it's not a little niggling thing in a fic like an accidental 'derp' or calling someone crazy that's going to ruin someone's day. We (me with my lovely array of mental illnesses as well as other people with mental illness/disabilities) have much more pressing matters on our minds. People say the word crazy around me (or call something bipolar etc.) LITERALLY EVERY DAY. You know what I really care about in my life? Hoping that my teachers and bosses never find out that I have bipolar disorder so that people in academia and the workforce still respect me as an intelligent and sane person. You know why they might think I was damaged in the first place? Because of idiotic SJW's like you who write fic about people with disabilities/mental illnesses and portray them incorrectly because they think they ~understand~ them so well. GTFO AND STFU.

tl;dr, don't warn for ableism, summaries are enough, SJW's without disabilities are inherently ableist
