Prue was always my least favorite sister, tbh. I definitely prefer Paige.

And I still can't watch season four and most of season five because of what they did to Cole.

Season six is my favorite (and the only one I own on DVD) because of Chris. He's my favorite character. Kinda wish there was more revelation fics and Halliwell family bonding.

Do you know any good Chris fics? As I mentioned below, I like the whole plot around Chris, but had already quit the show before he appeared.

Het, gen or slash, doesn't matter. I don't have a problem with incest, either. (I'm guessing Wyatt/Chris is a thing in fandom?)

So I'm going to admit I remember next to nothing about the actual characters or storyline by now, but as far as I know..I loved everyone. Paige included. It was indeed super cheesy but one of those shows that is super enjoyable to watch regardless.

Plus, so many cute badass women! Always a plus.

Piper was my favourite sister, and I was always kinda annoyed how Pru always stole the show. I still missed her though, I never really clicked with Paige.

I like the idea of/plot involving Chris, but at the time he came along I had pretty much quit Charmed and couldn't get back into it. :/ As a huge Piper/Leo fan I was disappointed with the direction the show had taken with them, not to mention what they did with Cole. D:

I liked Paige over Phoebe and sometimes even Piper, but imo nothing can beat Prue. But I get you, Prue was pretty much the center of the show before she died.

I feel like the reason why the writers made Prue so hyper-competent was because otherwise, she didn't have much of a storyline to fall back on? Like both Piper and Phoebe had the "Romeo & Juliet" thing going on with Leo and Cole, respectively, and Prue was just... being awesome and kicking ass. Not to say Phoebe and Piper didn't kick ass, but the focus of their characters was elsewhere.

Wasn't it that Shannon Doherty wanted her character to be center stage? I don't know where I read that, but I think that was one of the conditions for her to sign on for the show.

Agreed about the sisters. I liked all of them to some degree but Prue was my favorite.

I always found it odd that they never gave Prue a legitimate love interest after Andy. Well, unless you count Jack but seeing as I think their actual relationship only lasted for like three episodes, I don't really think he counts? There was a lot of leading-up to that relationship and so little pay-off. And all the other guys she was involved with hit the road after two or three episodes. So yeah, I agree that without the romance angle, they fell back on her being the most magic-focused of the three and the one who ultimately made most of the decisions. Which was fine with me, I just thought it was an odd choice for a series that seemed so focused on the romance angle.

Loved Prue (because I watched the show as a child and she looked the most like me, which is how all favorite characters must be chosen in the mind of a little girl!), hated Chris.

Piper was always my favorite. Lord that woman can cry so pretty. But I really liked all the sisters.

My only real dislike was Wyatt. This may or may not be an excerpt of a silly fic I may or may not have written a long time ago LOL:

"Leo! Leo! Leo!" Paige stamped her foot impatiently as she waited for her Whitelighter to appear. Leo finally materialized in a shower of white light over which Rick Berman periodically contemplates a lawsuit.

"Paige, what is it?" Leo wore a look of vague anxiety. "Is it Wyatt, my three year old, yet strangely expressionless and pre-verbal, son?"

"Yes, it is. You know that Piper's been trying to potty train him? Well, he's afraid to do number 2 in the toilet. It's all very Freudian. Bottom line, Wyatt's scatalogical fears have conjured a demon best left in the Bog of Eternal Stench." Paige pursed her lips while rolling her eyes and sighing dramatically. "I really think we're gonna need to wear our crotchless vinyl bodysuits to defeat this shit."

Paige is annoying (mainly due to the actress's lack of talent) and Chris is really the most interesting character. I liked Piper 'til she went all baby crazy. Meh. Why can't I quit you, show?

I definitely agree that the show tended to prop Prue up quite a bit, but I still enjoy her half of the show. Nothing against Paige - when all was said and done, her character was one of the few I still liked/gave a damn about - I just prefer the dynamic that existed between the original girls, largely because of the amazing chemistry they had. I liked what Paige brought to Charmed, initially, in s4. The new sisterly roles (Piper becoming the eldest, Phoebe becoming the middle sister that had to mediate between the two) was great. But from about season 5/6 on, the show, to me, felt like it shifted more towards being about witches who just happened to be sisters rather than the other way around, and that bothered the hell outta me.

With you 100% on Cole, though, OP. To this day, the way the sisters treated him doesn't make much sense to me. Why were they even holding him responsible for what happened in season 4, in the fist place - was he not possessed? Add that to Phoebe acting as if helping Cole went hand in hand with getting back together with him, and I just don't get it.

ITA completely. I hated the lack of sisterly bonding in the later seasons. I can't remember exactly when I stopped watching (though I do think it was sometime in season 5) but I've seen most of the later episodes thanks to re-runs and they never really had the same (albeit incredibly cheesy) magic the earlier episodes did.

I really missed that in the later seasons. I mean, you would think Piper and Phoebe could have maintained that closeness, but it was like Prue was the glue keeping them so tight together and Paige was cool, but she wasn't enough to repair the damage.

I loved Prue. Paige was an absolute sweetie but I liked that Prue was so hyper-competent, because for damn sure nobody else was after she died. (Except maybe Piper, who really came into her own magically, but still continued to be all whiny I-wanna-be-normal whereas Prue embraced her witchiness in full.) Plus I appreciated how much she busted Cole's balls...somebody had to do it.

Lord help me how I hated Chris - glad I'm not in the fandom if it's nothing but a blizzard of him.

What I found most annoying about Pru was that she was always right. She didn't trust Cole when there was no reason not to from their point of view, and yet the show made it out as if she somehow knew he wasn't trustworthy. Then there was that episode where her old friend wanted to become a demon. The end of the episode moral was that he was redeemable and Cole wasn't. And everyone agreed with her. And then the sin episode where at the end her pride was really okay and not a bad thing at all and saved the day.

And she was jumping on Cole even after he had proven he was good. Then again, everyone did that at one point or another. The show seemed to honestly think that his powers made him inherently evil and that no matter how many times he proved his goodness, he wasn't ever going to be really good. It pissed me off. Frankly, I didn't blame him for going evil at the end considering how Phoebe treated him for that first part of season 5 as if he had chosen to be possessed or as if he himself had done all those things rather than the Source.

I so agree about Chris, though. Never got the love. And yes, the fandom is all about him. 95% of the fics are Chris-centric.

Oh, there's a Charmed fandom? :D I've only watched the first half of s1 & s2 - because my shitty video store can't be bothered to buy a full season - but I like it so far!

Phoebe was the one who started ticking me off (particularly re: Cole) but I thought Paige and Prue were ok. Both of them had their idiotic moments but my favourite ended up being Piper even though that 'normal life' fixation didn't really fit her as she got older.
