The Thor movie wasn't based on Norse Mythology; it was loosely based on a comic book loosely based on Norse Mythology. They're different. The Avengers movie is loosely based on the Avengers comic books. If you can't make that distinction, than yes, you probably won't enjoy it and you shouldn't watch it.

And in most cases...I really don't get why changing a characters hair color (or eye color, etc) is such a terrible thing. *shrugs*
