Glad to see someone admitting this, because it infuriates me that I spent so long thinking I was a fuck up because I am the same way. Never been so pissed off at a friend of mine when he and my SO were having a "heart to heart" and he said the only reason a woman can't have an orgasm from penetration is if they "masturbated too much". It's been determined that technically, all orgasms are clitoral because we've recently discovered that the clitoris is actually a much larger and mostly internal thing. However, being able to orgasm mostly (which I say because it is still possible to orgasm through internal stimulation, but that doesn't mean it'll ever actually happen) by external clitoral stimulation is about the norm. For what it's worth, you're not really missing a whole lot. :)

Same. But if you do the clitoral stim *during* the penetration, it can be very nice.

There are positions where you can get clitoral stimulation during penetrative sex (subject to individual anatomical variation, of course). The proportion of women who can orgasm through penetration without external clitoral stimulation of some sort is actually fairly small - not so small as to make them freaks, either, but well under 50% (I've seen numbers between 10%ish to 30%ish depending on the specific definition of "clitoral stimulation" the study was using).

Since we're all having TMI time, I need direct external clitoral stimulation for the first orgasm, but can get off via penetration after that, so I guess I fall somewhere in the middle.
