kinda TMI

[personal profile] les_lenne 2012-06-24 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, mine does, but I don't think you/your body is "doing something wrong" just because it reacts differently. Thing is, I'm really curious now -- what happens when you have an orgasm if you don't experience any contraction?

Re: kinda TMI

Not OP, but I think we're in the same boat and I feel like going TMI... :)

I don't feel any contractions either (that I'm aware of), but I'm very aware that I'm having an orgasm because of the intense radiant pleasure. Sometimes other muscles in my body contract (like I'll have to arch my back, my legs spasm, etc), but I don't think I've ever felt anything in the genital or uterine environment "clamp down".

TMI time: I am very rarely aware of having vaginal contractions during orgasms. Like, almost never. (Though when I am aware of it it's pretty awesome, um.) Idk if I'm not doing it the rest of the time or if it's just gentle enough that it's not really noticeable. I suspect the latter.

(Anonymous) 2012-06-24 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess they're talking about the muscle spasm going on in the vag? Idk

(Anonymous) 2012-06-24 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
It might not actually *be* clamping down, but it kind of *feels* like it is, more towards the start than the finish.

(Anonymous) 2012-06-24 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
What confuses me is when they do that "clamp down contraction" thing with guys and anal. Is that even a thing?

(Anonymous) 2012-06-24 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, since the sphincter is a muscle the general reaction is to clamp down that's why you want to kind of push out if he's trying to get in or it will be painful for you.

This might be a bit TMI, but (for me, at least) the muscles don't just "clamp down" in my vagina but basically in my whole abdomen, including the muscles around the anus. I have no idea how a male orgasm feels like, but if it's anything like mine, it would be a thing, yes :)

It depends what you mean? Like when my body "clamps down" (what a weird expression btw), it's the whole body, not just my booty.

I don't know if mine does, but my GF's certainly does. So it is a thing.

Maybe your contractions just aren't usually forceful enough to give you the impression of "clamping."

[personal profile] naturedichotomy 2012-06-24 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I have wondered this too, 'cause the actual orgasm bit feels like the exact opposite of clamping down to me. But apparently it does happen?

If you're having a good time, you're doing it right! :)

Regardless of how your orgasms compare to anyone else's.

I don't think mine 'clamps down' but I cannot orgasm through penetatrive sex. All my orgasms are clitoral.

TMI and a little off topic, but I'm in a sharing mood

I had a boyfriend who was generally pretty sweet outside of the bedroom, but I could never figure out why he thought I was satisfied, when I'd only had an orgasm with him once (which was when I finally convinced him to go along with one of my kinks, and I pretty much always get off with that).

Years later, long after we'd broken up, I realized that since I have pretty decent muscle control and could clench on command, he must have thought I was getting off all those times.

hahaha, yay tmi

Have you had an orgasm? Vaginal muscles contract resulting in the sensation of squeezing whatever's shoved up in there (fingers, toys, penis). It's not that far from "clamped down".

(Anonymous) 2012-06-24 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds like the difference between a vaginal orgasm and a clitoral orgasm *shrug* Every cunt owner is different.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kegel_exercise

This is a good exercise for women in general and it will give you a feel for what people are talking about.

(Anonymous) 2012-06-24 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Pre-med student here. Hate to break it to you, but yes, you do "clamp down" during orgasm (and by clamp down they mean "contract"). Vaginal, anal (for women and men) and abdominal muscles (also for women and men) all contract during orgasm, whether or not there's penetration. The intensity of these contractions differs from person to person, so it's possible to not be aware of them, but physiologically an orgasm is always accompanied by contractions. So in other words, you might not be aware of them, but they are in fact happening.

My vag will pulse more often and harder if I'm really REALLY horny at the time I get off. If I just start to jill off for the heck of it my orgasms tend to be kind of "meh."

Let's talk about vagina

(Anonymous) 2012-06-24 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Anyone else ever tightened their vaginal and/or rectal muscles so much that their dude was like "Ow, not so tight!" Yeah, that kind of made me feel like tight pussy-ed bad ass. (He was okay, don't worry.)

If you've never felt the physical aspects of your orgasm I reccomend practicing kegels and attempting to orgasm while fingering yourself. You should be able to feel at least slight contractions. The more you know about how your body works, the more comfortable you'll be.

First: If you're getting off and everyone involved is consenting, you're not doing it wrong. :-)

Second: Orgasm is one of those "individual variations are myriad" sorts of things. My upper vaginal muscles tend to contract fairly hard for clitoral orgasms, but not for g-spot ones. Also, some of us tend to tighten the voluntary pelvic muscles at or just before orgasm (it changes how localized the sensation is, for me - again, YMMV).
