First anon pretty much summed it up. If you want to see a closer-to-mythology Thor in comics, he appears volume 4 of the Sandman, "Season of Mists". Not a major player in the series, but he's briefly there and is even red-headed.

I loved that bit of Sandman (all of Sandman, really). I didn't realise until the second time I read it that those were Marvel characters and not straight up Norse Gods.
