agreed, but there has to be at least a little bit of realism, at least for me. i can only suspend my disbelief so much. like, lubeless anal sex, and no preparation at all on an anal virgin resulting in 'oooh it feels so good' will make me o.O and back button.

I agree -- SOME degree of verisimilitude makes everything hotter, but

1.) there is definitely a thing as TOO much verisimilitude in written porn; I do not need to know about queefing and cockcheese and the complications of anal sex etc for any parties involved no matter HOW realistic it may be, tyvm. Careful omission and selective glossing-over in the name of keeping readers horny, or at least not grossed out, is key.

2.) Demanding "realism" when it comes to how often a couple would perform a certain sexual act is stupid, period. I happen to like all different kinds of bumping uglies and like to read about the exploration of these options, but I admit I favor ones that end in penetrative sex. I also like fics where both parties orgasm within a short time period of each other (need not be simultaneous), which is also not realistic. I like reading fics where neither party isn't into it that night, or gets bored, or any number of things that happen frequently with IRL couples. Demanding realistic behavior for THIS particular sex act is ridiculous.

OP, like so many others, has a squick (anal sex) and is trying to convince themselves it's NOT a squick, just the reasonable and true reaction to everyone else being stupid/gross/privileged/appropriative/whatever the buzzword of the week is.
