If it was on a different channel, maybe. But it's nickelodeon and they wouldn't risk that kind of backlash from crazy parents. The creators of the actual show might be up for it though.

A murder suicide on a kid's show? Totally fine. But apparently having gay people is just too risque for some parents.

Your last sentence so freaking much. IRL where I live parents who had a daughter on a local baseball team tried to get a gay couple banned from attending the gay couple's own daughter's practices. Thankfully the other parents shot them down and suggested Mr. & Mrs. Homophobia didn't attend practices if they had so much trouble with it. Mr. & Mrs. Homophobia got in trouble with deputies recently for letting their son have a "Fight Club" in their garage where a kid got seriously hurt. Family values for the win.
