TBH I'm not sure there was ever much of a fandom for BioShock. Which is sad because it's fantastic, but...yea. Mostly there's art, and anything beyond that is pretty scarce. Though I haven't looked in a long time either, but it probably hasn't changed. Maybe there will be more of a fandom for Infinite...but who knows. :/

Isn't that the point of movie!Sophie's character, though? That she doesn't think highly of herself, therefor being cursed means little, because the person who is cursed (herself) means little to her? That's why she says things like "well, my clothes finally suit me now", because she really doesn't see herself as mattering. Also, on why Howl couldn't actually be Howl in the very beginning, she says it's because Howl only eats the heart of "beautiful girls", i.e. not her. She just doesn't see herself as important, I thought that was just why she accepted it. And even then you can see that she doesn't completely accept it, look at the meal that she eats with Markl and Howl that first morning, when she gets angry, and tries to explain the curse, but can't.

And, honestly, I thought Princess Mononoke was actually really uplifting. Fatalistic? How? The lepers getting a second chance, instead of just being left alone to die? The ex-prostitutes being given a chance to have a respectable job, with a boss who respects them? And, tbh, I didn't get that the couple was "abusive", but that they had a joking relationship that worked for them. Did I miss something?

I vastly prefer Hatoful as well - idk, I don't think Katawa Shoujo is like terrible, it's just never quite managed to engage me though I think I've given it a fair chance.

But I haven't really seen people writing off Hatoful either - it's a lot more common to see people flailing about how they never could have dreamed they would feel all that over a bunch of pigeons!
(With you re: Shuu also. Personally Sakuya is so my favourite <3)

Well....it IS a fun song (imo anyway), even if weirdly creepy and the blue screen being really bad. XD;;;


Though it was really worse in the book because it followed after the other door that led to a laughs-into-madness portion of the "forest/labyrinth" that was chilling as shit and I sorta wish that had been in the movie. >_>
