They're side characters, but Mouretsu Pirates/Bodacious Space Pirates has a canon lesbian couple to top off the loads of subtext. Despite the name, there's essentially zero fanservice, I swear! It's just really, really good and basically about women being awesome and competent in space. It's a currently airing anime (last episode airs Saturday), so it's only available subbed -- you can stream it legally on Crunchyroll, if you don't do downloading.

Oh, great to know! I've just started watching it and I've mostly been praying for something more than oh-so-heavy subtext at some point, so I'm happy to hear there's a canon lesbian relationship!
