(Anonymous) 2012-06-27 01:02 am (UTC)(link)I had the same reaction. It wasn't enough to turn me off, but enough to make me wonder just what direction they were going to take, because it seemed different from the atmosphere in the initial concept art.
I then stopped following the development of the series and decided to just wait until it was released (and then stuff happened irl and no more tv for me).
I saw secrets here but refrained from seeing them because spoilers, but about halfway through the series I saw a few non-spoiler ones that were... well, not very satisfied with the series, and little by little I started following a few discussions here, seeing other secrets there... and realized that I had dodged a fandom investment bullet!
