Who has been bashing Natasha? Most of the fandom seems pretty in love with her (me included). Her and Clint are the Most Awesome BFFs Ever in every fic I've read that featured the Clint/Coulson pairing.

I admit to totally shipping her with Pepper though, not Clint. I like seeing a guy and a girl actually just be friends, and the movie canon is ambiguous enough I can blissfully do that. And Natasha/Pepper hits a preference I didn't even know I had for badass!ninja with badass!capable.

character bashing/derailment fics aren't as common as they are in some other fandoms; there's so many good writers here that you have to be scraping the bottom of the barrel for your preferred pairing before you run into them. they do exist tho!

This one is pretty good. It's post-Iron Man 2, pre-Avengers, and it does start with Pepper/Tony, and change to implied Tony/Steve and blatant Pepper/Natasha. The Tony/Steve parts are never explicit, merely observed as "Flirtation is happening", so if that's not your cup of tea, you can blissfully block it out.

I think all aspects of the fandom are pretty good about not bashing characters, I think. I ship Bruce/Natasha and Clint is almost always that Most Awesome BFFs in that as well.

Me too :) My headcanon is that they're basically badass best friends but not romantic, because I like the idea of that super close friendship.
