I got a letter from unemployment today telling me my state had cut it's extended benefits program... Has this happened to anyone else? Do they cut you off completely, or am I still able to collect the money left on my claim? :/

/in before "get a job." I have one, but it's part time only and my state has one of the highest unemployment rates. There's just nothing here.

I understand each State has a different policy.

NJ. I've checked the state website, it just repeats the same thing that's in the letter. "Final payment date of EB is ____" so I'm not sure if they're telling me I can't receive anything after that date despite the nearly $2000 still on there (which is why I wanted to know if anyone else had this experience in a state that was already cut off, and what happened to them), or if it's telling me new extended claims can't be filed, or...

It's probably wishful thinking on my part that it's the latter rather than the former. In which case, I'm screwed. Yay.

Ah. Does the website have a number where you can call and ask a human operator about your situation? I'm sorry I don't have anything to add :-(
