History help??

Just a few things- French Revolution, warfare and society- do you HAVE any topics in mind? What research have you done so far? What aspects of history are you interested in covering? Are you someone that likes political history or the history of individuals or social history / women's history?
I'm moderately familiar with this time period (by which I mean, I've done about two and a half modules on it at various points in my university life). Can't say I'll definitely be able to craft something for you but I could give it a go.

(Anonymous) 2012-06-27 01:44 am (UTC)(link)I do have some topics in mind, and I have done general research on the Revolution/the Revolutionary wars. I was thinking of discussing the impact of the levee en masse on society as one topic, but I'm having trouble coming up with an argument; my previous topic of tying the change in the French military to the rise of Napoleon was shot down by my prof, and I think he's looking for a paper that leans towards the social history side.
This the first history class I've taken in undergrad, so I'm in general a bit lost.
I don't have a dreamwidth account, so I'm not sure if I can pm you?

And- yeah, first history class as an undergrad and it's a fourth year class? Sob I would definitely not have recommended that, the kind of arguments they're going to expect from you...
With these kinds of things, you'll find the most success from trying to do a good paper on as small a topic as possible. Levee en massee and society is a good start, though!
