Ugh, I have this with kissing (that noise when the tongue leaves the palate?) it makes watching any sort of TV really hard, i ususally close my eyes and try to think very loudly. And if a couple behind me in a queue is kissing loudly, for example, I can't stand it...

but well, it seems everyone has some form of this (I haven't yet encountered someone who isn't irritated by a specific sound), isn't it kind of excessive to make a pathology out of it?

Sigh. As I've stated before, misophonia is not just "annoyance of sound"

People with misophonia go from 1 to 10 in an instant. Sounds make them violent, irrationally angry, they start to panic, their heart rate goes up, they cry, they punch things, they exert irrational anger towards the source of their frustration. It is not normal to want to punch someone's teeth in or hurt them because they are making smacking noises.

This IS a disorder.

No, it is not excessive to make a pathology out of it. It will make it easier for people who are very badly affected by this disorder to receive assistance and treatment for it.
