In my experience all the ppl I know who have had incestuous relationships tend to stay far, far away from fics dealing with incest, and the ones who read it have nothing to do with incest IRL.

This. I read incest kink from time to time and one time IRL someone made a descriptive joke about my sister and I in an incestuous relationship I threw up a little in my mouth.

OP, that sounds incredibly awkward. I strongly, strongly encourage you to try to squash that and never ever act on it or let your uncle know, because the family drama that would ensue would be devastating. Don't do it. D:

(I don't speak from experience, btw. I just realized after re-reading that that it could come across like that. I just know from... similar situations, if not outright incest-y, that I've observed in similar group dynamics. Sex messes everything up when it's introduced into that kind of social group.)

You may have a crush on him, OP, but if he seriously made overtures, would you go through with it? I mean I'm not making a judgment either way, I'm just saying it's different: there've been teachers I had serious crushes on, but if they'd actually propositioned me, I'd have found that...pretty creepy, really.

That's actually a good point. I've had several crushes on teachers/profs before, I think I'd only reciprocate with one of them (who is also less than 10 years older than me).

This is a good point. I have a kink for cousin pairings in fiction and, rather to my horror, on being introduced to a cousin of mine that I hadn't seen in a good 15 years, I crushed hard. I wouldn't ever actually DO anything with him and would find it creepy if he'd ever tried to initiate something, but my crush was strong and powerful.

My cousin and I went further then we ought when we were teenagers, and whilst no-one ever found out (though we think they either suspected, or were being wilfully ignorant) and we broke it off amicably, it is still the most awkward thing you could imagine.

Plus there were no power differentials like there'd be here.

My uncle and I had a thing. Trust me, OP, if your situation is even the tiniest bit like mine it's not worth it.

My family have been generally forgiving, understanding and accepting, what with him being in an open relationship with my aunt and me being in my 20s and making the first move, but it is still so incredibly difficult.

We're constantly watched at family get-togethers; it's awkward to even hug him in a familial manner, even though I love him like that,; and don't get me started on what/how to tell partners about the elephant in the room. It's incredibly tough to explain to anyone who didn't know us as we were then, and most people won't stick around long enough to listen.

Long story short, you're not the only one, but I'd advise you to tread carefully.

This thread = judgey judger judgersons apparently. There's nothing weird or gross about crushing on a family member, actually, it's completely normal from a biological standpoint (and even in some modern cultures).

None of that matters, though, since OP isn't asking for advice about their crush.

ON TOPIC: It's also perfectly natural to be into situations, especially kinky ones, that relate to your current interests or experience. Not everyone into incest kink has that kind of reasoning for it (in fact, it's safe to say most don't) but it's a completely legitimate reason to be into it if you are.
