Thanks for answering. I feel stupid but I'm just so scared and embarrassed when it comes to sex, I don't even know if I will have the guts to buy lub or toys.

Some stores that have personal checkout machines also have lube in the hygiene products aisle. Make sure to get one that is sugar free with a water base. (Sugar+vagina= an increased chance of infection. Oil based lubes eat through condoms.)

As for toys, if you feel uncomfortable going to a store, there are plenty of sites online that discretely ship their products. I don't know any websites to recommend, so suggestions please.

Oh, and if you get a dildo, start with something that is smaller in width than three fingers. If you find yourself wanting something bigger, start working your way up slowly.

Thank you, I'll keep that in mind.

I would like to add that if OP has access to Amazon and their own account therein, it does sell toys. And all you get on your doorstep is the same ol' generic Amazon box that could contain absolutely anything. :) (Plus, you could always throw in a book or something else into the order if you live with anyone who might casually ask what you got and, like me, you suck at lying.)

Also, lots of dildos give measurements by circumference in addition to/instead of diameter, so if you do decide to shop for something, I highly recommend using a flexible tape measure (like the kind you use in sewing) to make circles of the appropriate size, which will help give you a better idea of just how big the thing is. (If you don't have one, you could also measure off the circumference on a piece of paper, cut out the strip, and then roll that into a circle.)

If you're embarrassed to buy lube, you could just buy and use vaseline for temporary use. Just remember to wash/clean afterwards.

Vaseline is not easily available where I live. I think I'll just have to get over my embarrassment and buy proper lube.

Vaseline in the vagina is NOT a fantastic thing anyway. If you can't get lube, you might try a bit of olive oil or something similar before vaseline.

Also, there are alternatives to actual dildos. If you get to a store where such things are sold, a cheapo smooth plastic battery-operated vibrator would be smaller and cheaper than a real dildo. Or, and I know this might sound gross, you could try things like a large carrot or a small cucumber, any rough bits shaved off. Basically, you can get creative. :)

Um, as someone who has heard too many stories about food bits breaking off and other stuff you should probably use a cheap condom to keep it clean and contained if you go the carrot route.

Agreed. Condoms should be used with homemade toys for safety and ease of cleaning. One of the last things anybody should want is to give the bacteria on your homemade dildos a new habitat inside your body. Heck, condoms should be used with some professional toys, too.

Do people not wash their fun time toys? Sometimes I use cheap condoms for toys if I won't get around to cleaning it until the morning but I've never not washed it between uses and I'm a little squicked out thinking about people not washing them.

The ones I'm thinking of are not easy to clean nor safe to use without condoms...

I'm not that type of person. Really. Neither I nor my human handler own any fun time toys :S

Oh no! How can we be friends now?

You can buy lubricants and vibrators through Amazon.com. I've done this a few times and haven't had problems with the products they sell, and the reviews tend to be pretty thorough so you can avoid the crappier products. If you don't have a credit card you can buy amazon gift cards at supermarkets or convenience stores with cash.

Just a suggestion if you're having a hard time buying these products in stores.
