There's a thread on some manga reader forum for people to discuss what they would do if they found their kid watching/reading yaoi and it's full of nothing but I WOULD THROW A PARTY AND SHARE MY COLLECTION WITH THEM LOLOLOLOLOL (regardless of the kid's age)

One of those 'hope you never have kids then' scenarios. Like, p sure most dads don't rejoice when they see their 10-year-old flipping through Penthouse, so why would you rejoice at your kid reading animated porn?

My first intro to yaoi was my mother handing me the manga series FAKE because she'd asked her manga lending bookstore thing "what a popular series for 14 year olds" was. I think they assumed she had a daughter and handed her the stack of books and she gave them to me telling me "it's about cops."

...well, technically it WAS about cops. They were all just dudes and just kind of tended to fall in love with each other a lot.

She still has no idea what the series is about.

ahahaha, FAKE was a formative experience for me. Think it encouraged me, as a yaoi fangirl, to embrace my feelings and ask another fangirl out. It's worked out pretty well for the ensuing six years.
