How do you mean "setting yourself up for disappointment"? Excuse me if this sounds to candid, but why would you set yourself up at all? I would bet you all the dollars I ever will own and have owned that they are not going to be a couple at all, in any way, ever in that movie. Why not just enjoy the pairing as you see fit, without hoping they are canonical?

Or do you mean you worry that there will be no fandom or shipping for it?

Yeah. Not OP, but I recently saw the extended trailer and it looks like a generic boy meets girl, dad doesn't approve, and shenanigans ensue story. The plot may be enemic, but I still think the animation looks awesome.

I've heard that, but...I usually dislike Sandler movies, but the guy actually impressed me with his VA. I could see Dracula as an actual character, and not just LOLSANDLER like his usually shtick. :X

I'm not into slash personally, but man there are so many animated movies I need to see this year. Paranorman, Frankenweenie, this, Guardians, Wreck it Ralph....@__@

I know. I'm surprised at how many animated films have been made this year that are being advertised as family films (if we forget the sequel-itis films). Do you think it's follow the leader or just coincidence?

Hm. I will never understand this phenomenon. And it seems to happen most frequently with slash. You've only seen a preview. And it's an unrealistic animation. What in god's name is your inspiration for shipping anyone from that kind of info? Sorry, not trying to be mean, I just honestly don't get it. It mystifies me.

You can ship characters based on a single image of a series you have never seen before.

A short video like a trailer is a bounty by comparison.
