My first fandom was Gundam Wing. It introduced me to fanfiction, numbered pairings (2x5 all the way, baby!), yaoi/slash, and a whole slew of Geocities and Angelfire and Tripod fansites through the Anime Web Turnpike. Aw yiss. I actually didn't find the yaoi until later in my fandom involvement, shockingly, because the most popular fic archive at the time was a place called Aishiteru which was pretty much all het/gen.

But I didn't start writing my own fic or actively PARTICIPATING in fandom until I discovered Yu-Gi-Oh! a few years later. Now I'm all over the place. XD

Also, Heero Is Not Toast.

Are there any other fandoms that use numbered pairings? I'm curious. I always figured Gundam Wing was the only one since all their names were numbers.

The only other one I've been in was the Saiyuki (manga/anime) fandom, and that one was SUPER CONFUSING even after I learned some Japanese and could figure out where the associations were coming from. XD; But I know I've heard people talk about other fandoms that do it...

Kingdom Hearts does, but only for those characters who have numbers.

2x5 all the way! :D One of these days I shall get around to drawing the epic fanart series for them that's been lurking in the back of my mind for the past couple years.

Nice to see someone else is excited about the idea. ^^ It really would be a selfish indulgence on my part, though I could say it's for digital painting practice. And it would even be true! Ha!

Definitely. Don't know about these days, but back when I was in the fandom it was a wildly unpopular pairing. Fandom consensus seemed to be that they hated each other (Duo has girly hair, therefore Wufei doesn't respect him, or something, idek). Which... there's no evidence for in canon so far as I could ever tell. XD

In other words: DO IT! ;P

I'm surprised in GW's heyday, 2x5 was unpopular. I mean, they get on each other's nerves so splendidly!! How fun! And what else could they have gotten up to in that bare cell they were locked in together...? *snicker*

Might I friend you here on dreamwidth? That way I can remember to tell you to check it out, should I ever attempt 2x5 fanart. ^^

By all means, as long as you don't mind the fact that it's pretty much just here to stalk F!S and I don't really update it at all, haha. ♥

I made my DW account for the same reason: f!s. *laughs* I think I will start mirroring my LJ posts here, though. What the hell, bigger exposure for my artwork and future original manga. Wheee!
