(Anonymous) 2012-06-29 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)I think what's confusing other anon is that "attempted" has the connotation of "tried and failed because of outside forces" as opposed to like, deciding to stop themselves.
It's a difference, somebody attempting then stopping on their own, and somebody attempting and being forced to stop that would have gone on willingly otherwise.
I don't know how to put that into concise words though.
