I always think of it as a way to personally thank someone that's given me so much. (Whether its an author, musician, artist, actor(?))....

It's not things I demand of them, rather, wanting to let the person know personally how important their work means to me, and to cheer them on.

Also a lot of the people I have a chance to meet might not be from my country or necessarily very famous, so it becomes important to show them my support.

Of course, I'd love to meet people casually, in the course of work, or as a student (I'm an art student, so meeting artists is also in part making connections, or seeking advice for a career, lol).

There's so many people I want to thank, and know that their work is appreciated.

That's why I want to go out to meet them. Earnestly to send a message of support.
