There's no 'right' or 'wrong' feelings about podfic - and you certainly don't have to listen to them if you don't want to. It's good you say yes, because there are people who might not be able to enjoy fic otherwise, and having the podfic means they get to participate in fandom.

But nobody says you have to listen to any of it, or enjoy it.

Although, to be clear, many people who create podfic also write. They are different creative works and are fulfilling in different ways, both to those who create them and to those who consume them.

Well said! Though I'd like to add that nobody says an author has to lie about liking it either. I don't record for the author, if they don't listen and never comment, that's fine by me. I do appreciate people who give permission to record despite not liking the medium, though.
