I wouldn't say you've been brainwashed, you're just more informed about the word around you. Give it some time. It will most likely pass and you'll be able to handle the knowledge. Being from a small town and never knowing about what happened/happens to other people in the world might be a comforting life, but it also makes you naive and somewhat dumb. Knowledge is a double edged sword. It empowers you but it also pulls you out of your comfort zone and forces you to see things you never thought existed. Once you are over the initial shock and can decide where you stand with regards to that knowledge you'll be a better, stronger person.

This isn't about knowledge, this is about fear. This OP is seeing/fearing things that aren't necessarily there in their personal life. This is a bit more then "upset over the state of the world."

OP might need therapy.

This isn't 'knowledge' - OP's been given a whole new set of insecurities because they internalized the PoC experiences that SJWs say most PoC have. Not quite the same thing.
