I feel ya, OP. Sort of, at least. Only in my case the fandom is Doctor Who, and my clear preference for Classic Who (NuWho isn't a reboot, but still). I'm also very into older movies and music, although this is more of a coincidence than anything else, and I'm not opposed to new stuff just because it's new. There's great stuff and bad stuff in every decade.

Although I need to add: I don't have any problem with younger people in fandom. I've ''met'' 13-15 year-olds with whom I've had very rewarding, intelligent conversation about whatever shared interests we have, and I've had opposite experiences with much older people.

This: And thanks to all the ways we access older stories and shows and music, what it really means is that we really can pick and choose the sorts of things that fit our tastes and interests rather than settling for crap that is one step better than watching paint dry because it is generically inoffensive to most people.
