Same here, OP. This scene is the one scene that stuck with me more than anything else. I don't usually cry much, but this scene had me in tears. You can tell that Noatak could have stopped Tarrlok if he wanted, but he didn't. Because even if they died, they would die together, as brothers.

It kind of makes me think of Ed and Al from FMA, but with a grim twist to it.

Really? Cause I was under the impression that Noatak had no idea what Tarrlok was going to do, and he was all teary-eyed because was reclaiming an identity he had all but abandoned, and also had reunited with his brother.

I think the only reason Tarrlok could do what he did was because Noatak didn't know about it.

Damn that scene was depressing.

MTE. I didn't think Noatak was aware of Tarrlok's plan.

I think it's definitely up for interpretation, but I'm with the camp that thinks he realized what Tarrlok was doing. During the part where he sheds a tear, his face just looks so damn resigned and almost grim.

Hm, yeah, now that I watched that part again (cause I was curious to see if I missed something) I definitely think either interpretation totally fits.

Although I'm not sure which one is sadder.

Yeah, it's pretty tragic either way. Never thought I would cry for Amon or Tarrlok, but I totally did during that scene.

My girlfriend figured he knew, which I didn't notice, but now I agree and think they were both talking each other down through the whole scene and knew exactly what was going to happen. Which for me made it rather beautiful, and no more comments about people's tastes for goodness sake as I read plenty of interesting and/or sad literature.
