Re: welp
It's really hard when someone you've known for a long time and always held on a pedestal turns out to be less than you believed them to be. I won't lie - it's probably gonna hurt for quite a while, but in a way, that's kind of a good thing. It means you're a caring person, and you're in touch with your feelings. That's a lot better than feeling detached from it, IMO. It doesn't feel good, but it says good things about you. And the fact that you're still here talking to us tells me that you're strong enough to rein in those darker thoughts of yours. Just keep talking to people. Here, IRL, hotlines... whatever you've gotta do.
And I'm going to echo everyone who's saying they fall asleep by doing impromptu fanfic sort of things in their heads to fall asleep. I do that, too, and it's a good distraction.
