Okay, I'm curious. When you say "most of what I had learned about it had come from this community" do you mean - people say feminists are all horrible manhaters here (which I honestly haven't much seen, aside from maybe a troll once or twice) or you just get the idea that feminists are anti-men from reading comments from people that identify as feminists? Also, what do you mean by 'anti-man'?

Not OP here but I totally understand where she's coming from.

I don't see it on F!S so much but other communities like ontd_political are explicitly man-hating. There was a clusterfuck of a post not too long ago in a post where the article was shaming bisexual women for having sex with men, saying that if they were good feminists they'd give up having relationships with males entirely.

It degenerated quickly into statements like "Men are the enemy" (actual quote), understandably upset bisexuals and pansexuals stating that they should be able to have liaisons with whoever they like without being seen as 'traitors to the cause' and other general fuckery.

If "Men are the enemy" is not anti-man then I don't know what is, and the sad thing is that these opinions aren't even the minority.

I remember that post.

I think it's very telling that your biggest problem with it was that the posters were being 'man-hating', and not that they were basically shaming women for not being political enough with their romantic relationships.
