heh, that's awesome that you showed up here OP. I don't anyone was offended, maybe a little sad.

I've known very smart women who didn't "agree" with feminism, even knowing the full meaning and history, because they thought women had achieved complete equality and respect in the 90's or something. I get the impression you've noticed that this isn't always the case, so you're already ahead. No matter what kind of shit gets attached to the word, I think it's generally a positive force and improves everyone's quality of life (not just women, because everyone benefits from an environment where mothers and sisters are valued and respected).

um, tl;dr: feminism can be positive, not negative :)
